Our laboratory is focusing on studying of convergence science-based regenerative medicine using stem cell engineering and tissue engineering. Based on a new bio-inspired concept and cellular microenvironment, we are developing to a novel method for enhancement of stem cell therapeutic effects and tissue regeneration using various stem cells (ESCs, iPSCs and MSCs) and biomaterials. It is expected that it will be widely used as a clinically translatable and practical technique via functionally-enhanced stem cell, biomaterials, and its therapeutic effects by diverse in vivo animal model for biomedical and clinical applications.
Major research areas
Enhancement of self-renewal ability and differentiation potential of ESCs, iPSCs and MSCs
Development of novel-system and -platform of stem cell culture with cellular microenvironment and biomaterial from bio-inspired or -mimicked concept
Development of biomaterials for stem cell therapy
Immunmodulation, Drug delivery, Hydrogel modulation, Animal modeling etc.
